THE BUTTERFLY

Academic Project

Site Unspecified / 2018
Description:

A one-week project aimed at the exploration of rational and comfortable living in the smallest possible area and includes the main aspects of life - feeding, sleeping, sanitation, sanctuary, interaction, and amusement. The proposed structure is a prefabricated wooden house for 1 person following UK minimum living area standards. The shape of a truncated hexagon allows the building of multiple temporary neighbourhoods on any given site by arranging them into small groups. The application of various vernacular architectural methods and sustainability approaches, such as log building, makes dwellings versatile for most climatic zones.
