A PRIVATE HOUSE
Professional Project (za bor architects)
Rovinj, Croatia / 2020
Description:
The proposal for a private house in Rovinj. As the client was unsure about the stylistic solution for his housing, the strategy was that each practice employee propose the design solution for review. Located on a hill slope in Croatia, the site is characterised by high solar gain and marine climate. My project proposed the introduction of the dynamic façade. Timber panels, installed on the shafts would rotate depending on the house’s exposure to the sun and time of the day. This would allow adjusting the indoor temperature with reduced energy consumption by artificial ventilation, as excess heat from solar radiation would be removed on sunny days, while additional light would be provided on overcast ones. The top floor terrace would be protected by parametric timber & fabric canopy.
A proposal of an interior design solution for the private house, developed during Part I placement in Za Bor Architects. The strategy is developed within Za Bor’s speciality style: each room features dynamic, deconstructivism and parametric shapes. Light pastel white and beige serve as dominant colours, while vivid purple highlights main attention seekers, such as mirrors, shelves, armchairs and beds. The wine cellar features an illuminated acrylic rack with an imitated parametric pattern.
